3D Kitchen Configurator

This 3D-kitchen configurator lets you plan a kitchen in a fast way and completely in 3D. This allows the end-user to change, modify and play around with different designs and setups, and finally print out a list of parts. The main focus relied on the idea to reduce the amount of sub menus, get close to the feeling and ease of use that is  known from computer games (level editors) and make it possible to plan a kitchen in under three minutes. Fluid motions and a simple interface that allowed to change things in a non-linear way.

The configurations of products in 3D makes it possible to get a quite good idea without investing too much imagination and the client will directly see if the idea responds to the visual output. Not switching between 2D and 3D interfaces  makes the process more natural and fluid.

The planner was distributed in two languages (German, Netherlands) on CD-Rom, internet (plugIn) . It was also used at the point of sale handled by staff (OBI, Bauhaus) and got various updates over time.
